I’ve recently come across a resource to create an augmented reality business card with contact links called 3D-ID. The Identific site provides a simple platform to link the viewer to your preferred social channels, email, and website. I’m going to share the simple steps to view my 3D-ID business card and create your own. This resource uses WebAR, so no app to install! All of these options are free.
View my 3D-ID business card with your MOBILE DEVICE.
1. Scan this QR code
2. Scan this image (after allowing your camera)
3. Connect with me on social channels (optional)
Create your own 3D-ID business card by following the directions below.

Enjoy and share with us all using #31DaysofARVRinEDU!
If you already have an image of your business card, upload the image when creating your 3D-ID. This personalized feature makes it fun to see your card in augmented reality and to see the blocks of social channels around it.
Be creative! I added the image on my Apple Watch and made the experience feel like you’re watching Iron Man. Imagine this experience for your parents, community, or professional (PLN) connections.
As for your students, consider these ideas below. Allow students to create a graphic of a possible card for these individuals. The links could be modified to go to a fake social account using a customized image (in Google Slides) or a website. There are many options for your students to create these business cards.
Create a business card for:
-beginning of the year to get to know your students-personal card
-a past president
-your favorite book character
-your school, club, team, etc.
-a favorite athlete or celebrity
-an ancestor
