Day 1 - Printable Merge Cube

Welcome to the start of the ARVRinEDU Advent Calendar 2021! I started this event last year to inspire new ideas to implement augmented and virtual reality into the classroom. These mini blogs will spotlight an immersive resource that can be easily implemented into the curriculum.

New this year is the focus specifically on the Merge Cube. Several years ago, I connected with Merge on their VR viewers. Not much later, they released their first edition of the Merge Cube. It was no surprise that educators loved the rubberized cube that presented a variety of augmented reality experiences. The Merge Cube now has two main apps: Merge Explorer and Merge Object Viewer. Although I will share many of these experiences in the two apps, we will also include other apps that use the Merge Cube.

Did you receive a Merge Cube at some point but have no idea how to use it? I hope to bridge that gap with a daily idea to put your Merge Cube to great use.

To get started, you’ll need a Merge Cube to test out the resources this month. If you don’t have a Merge Cube yet, download (below) and print to see the magic begin. If you decide to purchase a Merge Cube, find it on Amazon.
