I’m thrilled to provide the #31DaysofARVRinEDU event! Each day in March will include an augmented (AR) or virtual reality (VR) resource to bring into the classroom.
A few years ago, I ran across a resource with a huge library of 3D content by EON Reality. Later, they released an app that works great in a classroom called Creator AVR. The app has many different content areas including engineering, animal life, biology, chemistry, culture and the arts, electronics, history, mathematics and more! The app is available on iOS and Android, plus Windows-based laptops and computers.
The massive library includes several 3D models to explore, but what is most impressive are the pre-made lessons. Each lesson consists of an exploration of content in a touch screen mode, VR mode or AR mode (using the EON Reality trigger image shown below).
One of the best features in Creator AVR is the option to collaborate. Educators can invite students to join in the lesson with them, and all the voices of the participants are heard together. It’s a pretty amazing experience to talk and explore in a lesson together. Teachers can easily invite students to join the lesson by sharing with specific emails. Virtual classrooms are an ideal way to use this feature to explore learning.
The teacher can create lessons that can be adapted for the classroom needs, and the quiz helps to confirm understanding. I personally like how the format of the quiz changes to keep the attention and focus of your students. I cropped out the parts of the quiz that I failed 😉
Are you attending #ISTE19? Join me for AR & VR sessions! Workshops are now open for registration and some of the sessions are listed below.
